The gun is an early example of the use of Anson & Deeley's patent no. 1756 of 1875, the action flat bearing patent use number 148. It has the characteristic single lump and square section cocking levers of the first guns and would have been manufactured by Westley Richards.

The maker confirms that the gun was built in 1895 and the gun was rebarelled by David McKay Brown in 1986. The stock was reset for the left shoulder at this time and should easily bend back to its original right handed dimensions.
