Sir Percy E Bates Bt (1879-1946) was an English ship owner. Apprenticed to the family firm, he joined Cunard in 1910, became deputy chairman in 1922 and was chairman from 1930 until his death. Frederick Alan Bates (1884-1957) was his younger brother.

The stocks are fitted with 1/4 and 1/2-inch ebonite extensions, however the original leather-covered recoil pads have been retained to allow the guns to be returned to their original specification.
