The gun was imported and sold at Christie's in 1999 and was proofed upon import in London, the chamber length marking indicating 2 1/2-inch chambers, although the breech of the barrels indicates a 2 3/4-inch chamber. The chamber length actually measures 2 5/8-inches and was therefore correctly marked by the London Proof House.

The gun was built in Prussia by A H Lindner and is of very fine quality. The barrels have the H.A.L. with crossed pistols mark for Lindner. It is believed that less than 3000 examples were supplied by this maker prior to World War 1.
