A FINE 12-BORE SELF-OPENING SIDELOCK EJECTOR LIVE PIGEON GUN, NO. 24343

32-inch chopper-lump barrels with 2 3/4-inch chambers about full choke borings, mid extension, file-cut and matted ventilated rib, the frame, locks and top lever with fine bouquet and scroll engraving and retaining all of its original hardening colour, clipped fences, lined cocking indicators, non-automatic safety catch, 15 1/4-inch highly figured stock with pistol grip, beaver tail fore-end, 8lb. 5oz., nitro proof, in its maker's brass bound oak and leather case with canvas outer cover

The gun remains unaltered from its original specification and it appears virtually unused, retaining all of its original finish and protective lacquer. It is built to the very highest quality and it is stocked with exceptionally figured timber for the period. The serial number would normally suggest that the gun was built pre War, circa 1933 and it is quite likely that the gun was started in this period and only finished and sold some 25 years later. It remains an exceptional example of its type.
