The "Senior" (Premier) was AYA's very best model and is built on the Purdey Beesley self-opening action and is modelled very closely on the guns built by that famous London maker. It is thought that as few as 40 of these guns were produced.
A.S.I. confirms that the guns were sent back to Spain in 1990 for conversion to single triggers, re-stocking and matching as a pair. The guns appear relatively little used.

The gun was completed in 1983 and appears relatively little used. It was one of the last guns built before the death of Mario Abbiatico in 1984.
Angelo Galeazzi, the Italian master gun engraver, was born in Brescia in 1931. He was a pupil of Gino Medici in Brescia, master engraver and sculptor. Galeazzi's work is known for its attention to detail and the softness of his touch. His scenes have a lifelike quality that is only captured by the very finest of artists and sculptors. His work continues to be in demand the world over and only selected private commissions are undertaken.

The maker confirms that the gun was built as the No. 1 gun of a pair for A. Campbell. The guns were used by Sir Malcolm Campbell until his death in 1949, when they were subsequently given to the present owner's uncle by Donald Campbell.
Sir Malcolm Campbell Sir Malcolm Campbell broke the land speed record nine times between 1924 and 1935 and was the first person to drive at more than 300mph. His car, Bluebird, is the best known of all record-breaking vehicles. He also set the world water speed record four times in his Bluebird boat, attaining a record speed of 141.7mph in 1939. He died in 1948 and his son Donald continued the family tradition and was himself the holder of both land and water speed records until his death on Coniston Water in 1967.
