JOSEPH MANTON THE ACTION, STOCK AND FORE-END ONLY OF A 16-BORE HAMMER GUN, NO. 1631, CONVERTED FROM FLINTLOCK the frame, non-rebounding locks, hammers and rotary underlever with scroll engraving, 14-inch well figured stock with engraved steel butt plate S2 The serial number dates the gun to 1801 and it was altered by Joseph Harkom & Son. The conversion appears never to have been completed as the gun was not re-submitted for proof. |
