27-inch Whitworth steel chopper lump barrels, shortened by the makers, with 2 1/2-inch chambers, about true cylinder and improved cylinder borings, the frames, locks and numbered top levers with fine bouquet and scroll engraving, lined cocking indicators, 15 1/2-inch figured stocks including 1-inch extensions, 6lb. 6oz., nitro proof, bores pitted, in their maker's brassbound oak and leather case
The maker confirms that the guns were built in 1914 with 30-inch barrels. They were shortened and lightened by the maker in 1932 to the then more fashionable length of 27-inches. |
