28-inch replacement barrels with 2 3/4-inch chambers, about 1/4 and full choke borings, doll's head extensions, damascus ribs, the frames and numbered top levers with fine scroll engraving, No.1 retaining traces of original hardening colour, No.2 with repair and additional strengthening bolster, the maker's name signed within a scrolled banner, distinctively carved fences, 14 1/4-inch figured stocks with chequered butt plates, 6lb. 6oz., nitro proof, re-jointing recommended, in their maker's brassbound oak and leather case

The replacement barrels were fitted by Fred Ward in 1963. The guns were converted to ejector at this time as well. Copies of the original correspondence relating to the re-barelling work are included with the gun.
