Langton Iliffe, the 2nd Baron Iliffe.
Edward Langton Iliffe (1908-1996)
He was best known for his restoration of Basildon Park and its later donation to the National Trust. After serving in RAF Intelligence during World War II, he returned to the family, owning interests in many Birmingham and Coventry newspapers, as well as a share in The Daily Telegraph. He succeeded to the title in 1960. |
