WOODWARD & SONS A 12-BORE SIDELOCK EJECTOR GUN, NO. 5047 29-inch replacement barrels by another, with 2 3/4-inch chambers, about 1/4 and 1/2 choke borings, the frame, locks and top lever with fine scroll engraving and retaining much renewed hardening colour, the breech face impressed "The Automatic" trademark, 14 1/4-inch figured replacement stock, replacement fore-end wood and iron, 6lb. 4oz., nitro proof, re-jointing recommended S2 The maker confirms that the gun was built in 1901 for Charles Fairburn. The replacement barrels were fitted by the London trade in 2000 and it is likely that the other refurbishment work was carried out at the same time. |
