27-inch Vickers steel chopper lump barrels with 2 1/2-inch chambers, about 1/2 and full choke borings, top extension, the frames and gold numbered top levers with bouquet and scroll engraving, and retaining traces of original hardening colour, 14 5/8-inch unchequered well figured stocks, 5lb. 14oz., nitro proof, barrel wall thickness marginal, in their leather case with velvet lining and canvas outer cover
The guns were built in 1936 and still conform to their original specification. They were completed as a pair of ultra lightweight guns without chequering. |
