PURDEY & SONS A 12-BORE SELF-OPENING SIDELOCK EJECTOR GUN, NO. 25434 28-inch chopper-lump barrels with 2 1/2-inch chambers, about improved cylinder and 3/4 choke borings, the frame, locks and numbered top lever with fine bouquet and scroll engraving, cleaned bright overall, lined cocking indicators, 14 3/4-inch well figured stock with chequered butt plate, 6lb. 4oz., nitro proof, in its earlier maker's oak and leather case, the lid impressed with the name 'W. E. P. Bustard' S2 The maker confirms that the gun was built as a No.1 gun in 1937 with 28-inch barrels and a 15 1/2-inch stock. A letter from the maker to this effect dated 1975 is included with the gun. |
