Details of Lot 187
CHARLES LANCASTER
A FINE PAIR OF 12-BORE SIDELOCK EJECTOR GUNS, NOS. 13485/6

30-inch damascus barrels with 2 1/2-inch chambers, about improved cylinder and 1/2 choke borings, the frames, hand-detachable backlocks and gold numbered top levers with fine foliate scroll engraving and retaining much of their original hardening colour, 14 3/4-inch highly figured stocks, 7lb., nitro proof, in their maker's brassbound oak and leather case with original maker's accessories, oil can, etc

The maker confirms that the guns were built in 1918 for R. G. Fenwick-Palmer. The guns are built on conventional actions (rather than the earlier "wrist-breaker" pattern). The guns incorporate Lancaster's patent hand-detachable locks and are finished to a typically high standard and remain in exceptionally fine condition for their age.
