The maker confirms that the guns were built circa 1935 with 27-inch barrels. Relatively few guns were built by Boss incorporating their full self-opening system between 1935 and 1940. Pairs are especially rare. The guns were returned to Boss & Co. in 1994 and two pairs of additional 27-inch barrels were made for each gun. The original barrels, which were worn and damaged, were recently sleeved to 29-inches by Bill Blacker and the work is of the highest standard. Please note that the 29-inch barrels no longer fit in to the case.
