Details of Lot 191
LONDON SPORTING PARK LTD
A SCARCE PAIR OF 12-BORE "WATTS" SELF-OPENING SIDELOCK EJECTOR GUNS, NOS. 322/3

28-inch Krupp steel barrels with 2 3/4-inch chambers, fitted with interchangeable Teague precision chokes, the frames, locks and gold numbered top levers with fine bouquet and scroll engraving and retaining some original hardening colour, the action flats impressed "E.C.G. & S.", 14 1/2-inch figured stocks, 6lb. 8oz., nitro proof, in their brassbound oak and leather case with Edwinson Green label

London Sporting Park was a London shooting school of some note and was run by a Mr Watts. The grounds operated from the late 1890s until just prior to the First World War and was the London ground used by Edwinson Green of Cheltenham for their London customers.

The action flats are impressed "E.C.G. & S." confirming what people thought for many years that Edwinson Green was the maker responsible for the many fine quality "Watts" guns that exist today.
