29 3/4-inch damascus barrels with 2 1/2-inch chambers, about true cylinder borings, the rib engraved "Holland, 98 New Bond St, London, Converted by the Army & Navy CSL, London", the rounded frame, non-rebounding backlocks, hammers and rotary underlever with border and scroll engraving and retaining traces of original hardening colour, single bite action, 14 1/2-inch well figured stock including 3/4-inch ebonite extension, 6lb. 15oz., black powder proof, bores marked
The maker's records indicate that the gun was completed in 1861. It appears to have started life as a pinfire gun, the engraving on the rib mentioning its subsequent conversion to centrefire by the Army & Navy.
