30-inch barrels with 2 3/4-inch chambers, about 1/4 and 1/2 choke borings, matted solid rib, the frame, locks and top lever engraved and carved with oak leaves and acorns, the maker's name signed in gold within a scrolling banner, the action base with a squirrel amongst oak leaves, retaining all of its original burnished and lacquered finish, the trigger plates signed by the engraver "M. K. Smith, 95", rolled edge trigger guard, 14 1/4-inch highly figured stock with pistol grip, 6lb. 11oz., superior nitro proof, in its maker's lightweight leather case with maker's accessories

The gun was completed in 1995 and appears almost unused and retains almost all of its original finish. The vendor states that the gun was to have been Pete Symes' personal gun and although started first, it was put to one side when subsequent customer orders were received. It was only completed when ordered by the current owner with the request that the maker build him a 20-bore over and under gun in the shortest possible time. |
