COGSWELL & HARRISON A SCARCE .450 NITRO EXPRESS HAMMER RIFLE, NO. 24445 23 1/2-inch chopper-lump barrels with stepped and tapered breeches, raised fore-sight, the machined short raised rib with folding leaf sights to 300, top extension, the rounded frame, hammers, rebounding back locks and rotary underlever with border engraving and retaining much of its renewed hardening colour, 14 3/4-inch well figured stock with pistol grip and rubber recoil pad, sling eyes, 13lb., nitro proof, in a canvas case with maker's label S1 The maker confirms that the rifle was built in 1906 and that the barrel length is original and was built for the Guinness Company at a cost of 30 guineas.
The vendor has used the rifle extensively in Africa and is able to supply much reloading data as well as targets showing how well the rifle is regulated. |
