26-inch chopper-lump barrels with ramp fore sight with folding moon bead, the stippled short raised rib with folding platinum lined leaf sights to 300, doll's head extension, the bottom rib engraved ".600 3-inch case cordite 110grs. bullet 900grs", the frame and top lever with fine scroll engraving around scenes of elephant and tiger in realistic landscapes, retaining some original hardening colour, fences with side clips, disc set strikers, 14 1/2-inch well figured stock with pistol grip and rubber recoil pad, pad perished, sling eyes, 15lb. 4oz., nitro proof, in its original brassbound oak and leather case with C. B. Vaughan retailer's label

The maker confirms that the rifle was completed on the 20th April 1914 and that it was sold to C. B. Vaughan two days later. The rifle appears unaltered from its original specification. John Wilkes built nine rifles in total in this calibre under their own name and they were all sold by C. B. Vaughan apart from the very first. The final three rifles were completed in 1922.
