28-inch sleeved barrels with 2 1/2-inch chambers, about 1/4 and 1/2 borings, the frame, rebounding barlocks, hammers and rotary underlever, with fine scroll engraving, 14 1/2-inch well figured stock with ebonite extension, 7lb. 5oz., nitro proof

The makers confirm that the gun was built circa 1876. It is among a number of guns that were built for Henry Callander during Atkin's first years of trading.
