29 3/4-inch barrels with 2 3/4-inch chambers about true cylinder borings, the rounded frame, non-rebounding back locks, hammers and push forward underlever with bold scroll engraving, 14 1/2-inch figured stock, 7lb. 2oz., nitro re-proof, in its maker's oak and leather case with lift-out tray

The gun was built to Daw's Patent No. 1594 of 1862 and is considered by many to be one of the most significant developments and certainly the first commercially successful true centrefire breech-loading sporting gun.
