A FINE GERMAN 28-BORE BOXLOCK EJECTOR GUN, NO. 2633

27 1/2-inch barrels with 2 1/2-inch chambers about full choke borings, engraved 'Made Specially for A. F. Ayer', the machined rib with crossbolt extension, the breeches profusely engraved with scrollwork, the muzzles with similar detail, the scroll back frame and top lever engraved with fine scrolls around scenes of African game birds, within realistic landscapes, the birds inlaid with gold, retaining much of its original hardening colour, the clipped fences with bold foliate scrollwork, cocking studs and gold plated triggers, 14 1/4-inch well figured stock with pistol grip, cheekpiece and basketweave butt plate, the chequering surrounded by fancy detail, the stock bearing an engraved silver panel on the left depicting a leaping lion and on the right, with an inlaid silver scroll bearing a presentation inscription: 'You Hear my Carbine? - One Caribou! "To Pat from Joshua Green with Compliments, Respect, Gratitude and Happy Memories of Glorious Finish on Lions at Sianna, November 26 1930"', 5lb. 5oz., German nitro proof
