28 1/2-inch octagonal damascus barrel with folding leaf sights to 250, the breech with platinum plug and engraved with a tiger's head, the non-rebounding bar lock and bolted hammer with scroll engraving, the trigger guard engraved with a deer surrounded by further scrollwork, the well figured half length stock with engraved steel butt plate, 14 1/4-inch pull, sling eyes, full length ebony ram rod, 7lb. 9oz., black powder proof, in its maker's mahogany case with many accessories including bullet mould, powder flask, oil bottle, spring cramp, etc

The maker kindly confirms that the rifle was completed in 1858.
