28 1/4-inch octagonal damascus twist barrel, rear sight graduated to 200yds, the engraved breech with platinum plug, the lock and bolted hammer with foliate scroll and border engraving and retaining traces of hardening colour, full length steel ram rod, the trigger guard engraved with a scene of running deer, half length well figured stock with engraved steel butt plate, 14 1/4-inch pull, 5lb. 2oz., black powder proof, in its fitted oak case with maker's label, powder flask, bullet mould, wad punch, etc, the oval engraved Blythswood Rifle

It is likely that the rifle was built for Campbell of Blythswood, first Baron Blythswood. Detailed research by the vendor in to this is included with the rifle.
