Details of Lot 280
CHARLES LANCASTER
A 12-BORE SINGLE TRIGGER SIDELOCK EJECTOR OVER AND UNDER GUN, NO. 30005

29-inch barrels with 2 3/4-inch chambers, about 1/4 and 3/4 choke borings, solid file cut rib, the frame, pinless back action bar locks and top lever with fine bouquet and scroll engraving, the trigger plates signed by the engraver, M. A. Hunt, ENG 09, the maker's name signed in gold and retaining all of its original hardening colour, rolled edge trigger guard, 14 1/4-inch highly figured stock with semi pistol grip, 7lb. 14oz., nitro proof

The gun was completed in 2010 and remains unused. The gun was finished in the London trade to the highest standard.

The vendor makes the following statement:

"The next two lots comprise a pair of unused and very fine 12-bore Charles Lancaster over and under pinless sidelock ejectors and a purpose English made case for a single gun. They have single non-selective triggers with rolled edge trigger guards for the right-handed. They have 29-inch barrels and though engraved by different engravers, both guns have been decorated with the exquisite style, known as the "600 pattern", and so favoured by James Purdey. The engraving work has been executed to an exceptional standard. Whilst these guns are a true pair, they are being offered for sale with the option of being sold as singles."

"It is unlikely that there are another two such guns in existence and it is believed that they are unique, being over and unders and having pinless locks. All the work carried out, including the finishing, has been to the highest of London standards".

"Should the first gun be successfully sold, then the second gun will be offered to the buyer at the same cost as the first. In the event that the guns are sold as a pair, then the single case will also be offered with them at no cost. If they are sold as singles, then the case will be by separate negotiation".

"Both guns come complete with a 5 year no-quibble mechanical warranty".
