27-inch Vickers steel chopper-lump barrels with 2 1/2-inch chambers, about 1/2 and full choke borings, the No.2 gun with an additional pair of 27-inch Vickers steel barrels with 2 1/2-inch chambers, about 1/2 choke borings, top extensions, the rounded frames, trigger plates and gold numbered top levers with fine bouquet and scroll engraving, the action bases signed in gold, 14 1/2-inch well figured stocks including 1/4-inch ebonite butt plates, the gold ovals engraved "ADC Scots Guards", 6lb, nitro proof, bores marked and barrel wall thickness below the recommended minimum, in their maker's brassbound leather case, including compartment for the additional barrels
The maker confirms that the guns were built in 1932 for Lt Col Archibald Douglas Crabbe.
