32 1/2-inch barrel with adjustable ladder rear sight, the breech impressed "US VP", the receiver with "US" marking and impressed with inspector's mark "DFC", the top surface impressed "The Lee Arms Co., Bridgeport, Conn, USA Patented Nov 4th 1879", bolt with cocking piece, detachable box magazine, the full length stock with two barrel bands, cleaning rod and steel butt plate, 13 1/2-inch pull, 8lb. 12oz., certificate of proof

The rifle is sold with a letter from Eugene Myszkowski identifying the rifle as a US Army Trials rifle and mentioning that the bolt has been converted to M1885 specification.
