28-inch barrels with 2 1/2-inch chambers and Paradox rifled chokes, machined short raised rib with folding leaf sight and top extension, the rounded frame, backlocks and top lever with border engraving, 14 3/4-inch stock with chequered butt plate, 7lb. 2oz., black powder proof, worn overall, top lever spring broken, bores badly pitted

The maker confirms that the rifle was built in 1888. It is a very early example of a Paradox with the first recorded example being built in 1886.
