30-inch damascus barrels with 2 1/2-inch chambers, about true cylinder borings, the frame, rebounding barlocks, hammers and sliding top lever with fine scroll engraving, 14-inch highly figured stock with steel butt plate, 7lb. 2oz., black powder re-proof, bores marked and lightly pitted

The gun was built in 1871 and incorporates two of the key Horsley patents, namely the self-retracting strikers and the sliding thumb lever.
