25 1/2-inch barrels with raised fore sight, short raised rib with fixed rear sight, mid extension, the frame, side plates and top lever profusely engraved in the Classical style around scenes of deer and dogs, the fences carved with leaves, the action base incorporating a shield, the trigger guard engraved with the initial "R", the trigger plate signed by the engraver, articulated front trigger, 14 1/4-inch highly figured burr walnut stock, beaver tail fore-end, 7lb. 15oz., Belgian nitro proof, in its brassbound lightweight leather case with canvas outer cover, J Roberts & Son trade label

Alain Lovenberg was born in 1950 and has practised his art in his home village of Durbey in the Belgian Ardennes since 1972. He is renowned as one of the finest engravers working today and has worked almost exclusively for Hartmann & Weiss and Lebeau-Courally.
