27-inch Whitworth steel chopper-lump barrels with 2 1/2-inch chambers, about improved cylinder and 1/4 choke borings respectively, the frames, locks and numbered top-levers with fine scroll engraving and retaining traces of original hardening colour, lined cocking indicators, 14 3/4-inch well figured stocks including 1/2-inch ebonite extensions, nitro proof, in their maker's brass bound oak and leather case with canvas outer cover, no. 1 gun bores marked, no. 2 gun stock a replacement, 6lb. 4oz.

The maker confirms that gun no. 1 was built in 1911 with 29-inch barrels and that the no. 2 gun was built in 1913 to match. The barrels were shortened by the maker to 27-inches in 1932, as was the fashion at the time.
