29-inch chopper-lump barrels with 2 1/2-inch chambers about improved cylinder and 1/4 choke borings, No.2 gun with replacement barrels by the maker, the frames, locks and gold numbered top levers with fine bouquet and scroll engraving, the maker's name signed within a scrolling banner, gold lined cocking indicators, 14 1/4-inch highly figured stocks with chequered butt plates, 6lb. 3oz. and 6lb. 5oz. respectively, nitro proof, in their maker's brassbound leather motor case, No.1 gun left barrel wall thickness below recommended minimum

The maker confirms that the guns were built in 1927 and 1925 respectively. The No.1 gun was originally built as a No.3 to the pair 7139/7140 and subsequently renumbered with the loss of the original No.1 gun.
