LONDON SPORTING PARK LTD A FINE 12 BORE "WATTS" SIDELOCK EJECTOR GUN, NO. 454 28-inch chopper-lump barrels with 2 1/2-inch chambers, about 1/4 and 1/2 choke borings, the frame, lock and breeches engraved with fine bouquet and scroll engraving and retaining much original hardening colour, 15 3/4-inch well figured stock including 2-inch extension, recent nitro re-proof, brass bound leather case, 6lb. 10oz.
Typical of guns by this maker, it is finished to a very high standard and this example retains much original finish.
The London Sporting Park was run by Mr Watts and operated from grounds in Hendon from 1897 until the First World War. Used by Edwinson Green's London customers, it is thought that the "Watts" guns were supplied by this maker. |
