28-inch chopper-lump barrels with 2 3/4-inch chambers, about 1/4 and 1/2 choke borings, gold washed Holland & Holland type self-opening mechanism, the breeches inlaid with gold scrollwork, the slightly rounded frame, locks and top lever engraved with fine foliate scrollwork and retaining much of its original bright finish, the maker's name signed within a scrolling banner, gold washed lockwork and triggers, gold lined cocking indicators and rolled edge trigger guard, the trigger plates signed by the engraver, "W. Howe", 14 1/2-inch highly figured stock, 6lb. 13oz., nitro proof, in its maker's lightweight leather case

The maker confirms that the gun was built in 1987 and that the customer specified an extra long fore-end and that the weight of the gun was to be between the hands. The scrollwork was engraved by Walter Howe and the gold inlaid breeches by Keith Thomas. |
