HENRY ATKIN AN INCOMPLETE TRIO OF 12-BORE SELF-OPENING SIDELOCK EJECTOR GUNS, NOS. 3468, 3469 & 3599 28-inch chopper-lump barrels with 2 1/2-inch chambers, about 1/2 and 3/4 choke borings, No.1 gun with an interchangeable pair of 28-inch chopper-lump barrels with 2 3/4-inch chambers, about 3/4 and full choke borings, No.2 barrels out of proof and sold as stock and action only, the frames, locks and gold numbered top levers with bold foliate scrollwork surrounding game scenes in the Kell style, lined cocking indicators, 15-inch well figured stocks cast-on for the left shoulder, No.1 and No.2 guns with replacements, 6lb. 10oz., nitro proof (No.1 gun re-proofed), barrel wall thickness below the recommended minimum, in their maker's brassbound oak and leather triple gun case, together with a double oak and leather case S2 The maker confirms that the guns were built as a pair in 1938 and that the No.3 gun was built to match in 1961. The interchangeable barrels for the No.1 gun are almost a perfect fit on the action of the No.2 gun and could easily be made to fit. |
