A FINE 12-BORE SINGLE TRIGGER SIDELOCK EJECTOR GUN, NO. 15270

28-inch chopper-lump barrels with 2 3/4-inch chambers, about 1/2 and 3/4 choke borings, the frame, locks and top lever profusely engraved with bold foliate scroll engraving around scenes of game highlighted in gold, the left lock with a pheasant in flight, the right lock with a grouse, the action base with a Labrador and the trigger guard with a rabbit, the locks signed in gold and retaining all of its original hardening colour, Miller single trigger, gold lined cocking indicators, 15 1/4-inch highly figured stock with Prince of Wales grip, 6lb. 10oz., nitro proof

The maker confirms that the gun was originally ordered in 1987 and was completed in 1992 for an American client. The gun was never paid for or collected and it remained the last "new" gun that Wilkes built. It was on display for many years in the shop until Wilkes' closure in 2003. The gun remains new and unfired and is being sold on behalf of the Wilkes family.
