AN INCOMPLETE AND COMPOSED PAIR OF 16-BORE SELF-OPENING SIDELOCK EJECTOR GUNS, NOS. 17653 AND 17586

No.1 gun the action, stock and fore-end only, No.2 gun with 28-inch replacement barrels by the maker, with 2 1/2-inch chambers about 1/4 and 3/4 choke borings, the frames, locks and numbered top levers with bouquet and scroll engraving, 13 3/4-inch well figured replacement stocks including leather covered recoil pads, 6lb. 1oz., nitro proof, worn overall, ejectors require regulation, lightweight leather case

The maker confirms that gun No.1 (no. 17653) was built for HRH Infanta Isabella of Spain in November 1902 and that is was re-stocked in 1966 for Juan Palao. The No.2 gun (no. 17586) was built in 1902 for Mr Newton. It was later re-stocked and finally in 1966 replacement barrels were fitted and it was again re-stocked to its current specification.
