27-inch barrels with 2 1/2-inch chambers, about 1/4 and 1/2 choke borings, the ribs signed with the 41 Albermarle St address, the frames and gold numbered top levers with scroll engraving and retaining much original hardening colour, the maker's name signed within a scrolling banner, No.1 gun with 14 3/4-inch well figured stock including rubber recoil pad, No.2 gun with 15 3/4-inch well figured stock including rubber recoil pad, 5lb. 15oz. and 6lb. respectively, nitro proof, in their maker's lightweight leather case with Boss & Co label

The maker confirms that the guns were built in 1934. John Robertson was the owner of Boss & Co and retailed a line of boxlocks exclusively for sale to his existing clientele. |
