25-inch sleeved barrels with 2 1/2-inch chambers about full choke borings, the frame, rotaly underlever, non-rebounding bar locks and hammers with scroll engraving, the lock plates signed J. Purdey, 14 1/2-inch figured stock with engraved steel butt plate, 6lb. 4oz., nitro proof
The gun has been converted from a muzzle loader and then subsequently sleeved. The rib is signed J. Purdey, Princes Street, Leicester Square, London. The gun has no serial number and there is not sufficient left of the original gun to determine with any certainty as to whether this gun is by Purdey or another. |
