The rifle was a gift from Frank Wallace's great friend Lt Col H. C. Brocklehurst. Brocklehurst was a captain in the 10th Hussars and Royal Flying Corps and later was an explorer and big game hunter. In WWII he rejoined the army and was Commander 2nd Special Service Detachment, a commando unit in Burma and was killed in action during the Japanese invasion. |
