28-inch chopper-lump barrels with 2 1/2-inch chambers, about 5/8 choke borings, the frames, locks and gold numbered top levers with fine bouquet and scroll engraving and retaining some original hardening colour, gold lined cocking indicators and rolled edge trigger guards, 16 1/2-inch highly figured stocks including 1 3/4-inch rubber recoil pads, 6lb. 7oz., nitro re-proof, fore-end wood chipped, No.2 gun extractor leg broken, barrel wall thickness marginal in their maker's lightweight leather case

The maker confirms that the guns were built in 1937. The guns incorporate the rare full self-opening mechanism that Boss used for a very limited period between 1933 and 1937 - only fifty-six examples apparently being listed in the order ledgers. |
