CHURCHILL A PAIR OF 12-BORE "UTILITY" MODEL BOXLOCK EJECTOR GUNS, NOS. 3237/8 25-inch barrels with 2 1/2-inch chambers, about 1/4 and 1/2 and 1/2 and 3/4 choke borings respectively, mid extensions, file-cut Churchill ribs, the frames and gold numbered top levers with fine bouquet and scroll engraving, the maker's name signed within a banner, 14 1/2-inch highly figured stocks including 1-inch extensions, 6lb., nitro re-proof, in their lightweight leather "VC" motor case S2 The maker confirms that the guns were built in 1926. The guns were owned by Colonel H. A. R. Powell, MBE and were used by his wife for many years. A letter enclosed with the guns shows that they were sold in 1983 for £3650. |
